SCOUTING MEMORIES

Dit is deel twee van 'Scouting Memories' waarbij ik een nieuwe generatie welpen van Scouting Purmerend heb vastgelegd. Hoewel ik vrij kort lid ben geweest van de welpen in Purmerend zijn de herinneringen hieraan vrij intens. De leiding van de welpen was erg aardig maar met mijn mede welpen kon ik het slecht vinden. Elke zaterdagochtend ging het welpenuniform aan - groen overhemd, donkergroene das met dasring, welpenpet en bruine ribbroek - en fietste ik vol tegenzin naar het clubhuis. Zodra deze verplichting voorbij was kon het weekend pas echt beginnen.

HERMAN KUIPHOF

Sportjournalist Herman Kuiphof is woensdag op 89-jarige leeftijd overleden. Kuiphof verzorgde jarenlang het commentaar bij belangrijke voetbal- en tenniswedstrijden op radio en televisie.

SCOUTING MEMORIES

At the age of 10 I became a Boy Scout in Purmerend. There were two reasons why I wanted to be a member of the Scouting. The first reason was to get the scouting manual with images of Walt Disneys ‘Jungle Book’. The second reason was to gain good knotting skills. I still can’t make a nice knot because it was part of the next level in scouting.

This week I visited the Scouts in Purmerend again. Just to refresh memories, to visit the location, and to see what kind of kids do the scouting nowadays. I plugged in the Flashlight and portraited the kids and the Senior Scouts. Above a selection of the results.
